SPRING 2021 – 2022 (JUNIOR)
Studio III - Office Design
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO1: Define the elements and principles of interior design into planning an office space.
- CLO2: Demonstrate the ability to conduct user needs analysis through organizational charts, workflow and adjacency requirements, referring to universal design principles.
- CLO3: Select compatible and sustainable materials and finishes.
- CLO4: Design an office for a client within the context of an existing architectural building shell.
SPRING 2021 – 2022 (JUNIOR)
Lighting for Interior Design
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO1: Describe lighting resources, techniques and requirements of interior space.
- CLO2: Test interior lighting fixtures and sources to apply the appropriate specifications and calculations.
- CLO3: Evaluate the green lighting elements to create a sustainable interior environment.
- CLO4: Design an incorporated lighting scheme and layout for an interior space.
FALL 2021 – 2022 (SENIOR)
Furniture Design
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO 1. Identify the evolution of furniture styles and design through history.
- CLO 2. Demonstrate the relationship between human factors, ergonomics and interior furniture.
- CLO 3. Analyze the design process of furniture including material selection and suitable fabrication methods.
- CLO 4. Evaluate the impact of furniture design and fabrication on the environment.
- CLO 5. Prepare a design for the construction of a piece of custom-made furniture in the context of an interior space.
FALL 2021 – 2022 (SENIOR)
Studio IV-Commercial
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO 1. Research and describe the components, features and functions of a commercial space to meet the needs of a particular client.
- CLO 2. Analyze the client’s needs through programming the organizational charts, work flow and adjacency requirements.
- CLO 3. Design an office for the client within the context of an existing architectural building shell, including space planning, furniture layout, finish material selections, ceiling, and millwork design.
FALL 2021 – 2022 (SENIOR)
Capstone Graduation Project
Course Learning Outcomes:
- CLO 1. Create a strategy for a design project.
- CLO 2. Propose appropriate design techniques applicable to the project.
- CLO 3. Prepare a documented original design project from concept to completion.
- CLO 4. Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- CLO 5. Interpret the findings of a design project from an industry perspective.
